Year 5 Taster Days

We would like to announce that we are launching our Year 5 Taster Sessions to all our feeder schools.

These sessions are designed for children who are most likely to consider joining Maplesden Noakes in Year 7 and who would benefit from experiencing our facilities, exploring our learning environment, and meeting some of the staff they may encounter in the future. We have selected a wide range of subjects for the taster sessions, to ensure the experience is both enjoyable and relevant for your children. The sessions will change every term they are running.

There will be different stations developing different skills, that you need across many different sports.

Come to our Art taster session, there will be opportunities to try different techniques while having lots of fun.

Rates of Reaction: Students will be planning and doing an experiment looking at how surface area affects a reaction

Students will have the opportunity to program Micro:bits (a programmable mini computer)

Students will look at how voting works and how to put a persuasive argument together. The scenario is there can only be one sweet and they have to campaign for there sweet (in small groups) to be the chosen one!

Students will work to design a school. The ultimate student voice!
